Join DCI today to build relationships and gain fulfillment serving individuals in our comfortable clinical setting with a lower caregiver-to-patient ratio than other providers.The Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides care to patients with end-stage renal disease, supporting clinical staff throughout the dialysis treatment process to deliver prescribed treatments. Our PCTs are an integral part of the interdisciplinary team in ensuring safe care and the highest quality outcomes for every patient.Schedule: Part-time, two 10-hour shifts starting at 5am; Sundays off; no overnight shiftsCompensation: Pay range from $17-$19 per hour, depending on healthcare experience; experience not requiredBenefits:Paid 12-week training with preceptorComprehensive medical, dental and vision benefitsLife insurance provided at no additional expense to employeePaid time off (PTO) including holidaysExtended Sick Bank (ESB) in addition to PTO – paid time for doctor appointments, sickness or medical leaveRetirement plans with $.50 of each contributed dollar matched for eligible employees, up to 8 percentEmployee assistance programWellness programAmong othersResponsibilitiesWhat You Can Expect:Actively participate in infection control, risk management and patient education activitiesGuide new patients through 120-day education planObtain and record patient vital signs and machine readings during treatmentRole under RN supervisionSet up and break down dialysis blood system for treatmentInsert and remove patient access needlesMonitor patients during dialysis, document changes and inform charge nurse of any concernsCalculate patient's weight loss to reach dry weightDetermine patient care priorities and organize work load accordinglyMaintain professional working relationship, observing patient privacy and rightsMaintain and track inventoryPerform laboratory workQualificationsSuccessful Candidates Bring:Excellent communication skillsDesire to collaborate with care teamsAbility to problem solveEducation/Training:High school diploma or GED requiredPrevious healthcare experience preferred, but not requiredCNA, EMT, medical assistant, CNT and/or phlebotomy skills desiredDCI provides a 3-month comprehensive education program, including classroom group sessions and one-on-one skills trainingDialysis experience not required, job shadow opportunities availableDCI is committed to building a diverse and inclusive organization.
