Mathieson, Moyski, Austin & Co. LLP is looking for an experienced Senior Tax Manager to join our Lisle office. We are looking for a seasoned public accounting tax professional with strong technical experience, including foreign and international tax matters. The ideal candidate is ready to take ownership of complex engagements and client relationships, develop staff, and contribute to the continued growth of our tax practice.
What You'll Do
• Manage and review complex federal, state, local, and international tax engagements for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, trusts, and high-net-worth clients.
• Work with clients that have foreign and international tax reporting requirements.
• Review complex tax returns and related workpapers for accuracy, technical compliance, and planning opportunities.
• Research and provide guidance on complex domestic and international tax matters.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing proactive tax planning and identifying opportunities beyond tax compliance.
• Manage multiple client engagements, deadlines, budgets, and expectations.
• Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships.
• Mentor, develop, and provide technical guidance to tax staff, seniors, and managers.
• Work closely with Partners on complex client matters, tax planning, and firm initiatives.
• Assist with identifying opportunities to expand client relationships and grow the firm's tax practice.
• Stay current on changes in federal, state, local, and international tax laws and regulations.
What We're Looking For
• 7+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience.
• Significant experience reviewing complex business and individual tax returns.
• Demonstrated foreign and international tax experience is required.
• Experience working with international reporting requirements and clients with foreign tax matters.
• Strong technical knowledge of federal, state, and local taxation.
• Experience managing complex engagements and serving as a primary client contact.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop tax professionals.
• Strong tax research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly to clients and team members.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a public accounting environment.
• Experience identifying tax planning and advisory opportunities for clients.
• CPA, EA, or JD required.
